Spaghetti bolognaise

Day One: Spaghetti Sauce 

  • 1 kg (2.5 lbs) minced/ground beef 
  • 2 TBSP olive oil
  • 2 tsp Greek One Spice®
  • 2-3 TBSP oregano
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 green pepper (capsicum) chopped fine
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 cans tomato Puree + 1 can water
  • 1 can stewed/chopped tomatoes +1 can water
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan

On medium heat brown meat in oil, season evenly with Greek One Spice®.  Add onion, green pepper and garlic in with meat and mix thoroughly. When water has absorbed, add stewed tomatoes and rub in oregano, simmer 10 minutes.  Add all of your water and then Parmesan, simmer 40 minutes to cook in the flavours, add more Greek One Spice® at discretion.

Boil spaghetti to directions.  In a small frying pan on medium heat brown 3 tablespoons butter.  Wait until it stops bubbling and starts to turn dark brown even a little black, don't worry.  Drain spaghetti thoroughly.  Sprinkle parmesan cheese in the bottom of a large bowl.  Pour spaghetti into the bowl,(or same pot) sprinkling parmesan cheese throughout spaghetti. Pour burnt butter on top.  Serve sauce on top of spaghetti - not mixed through...enjoy some of that spaghetti with butter too..
