Crab Boil
CRAB BOIL Serving size: 1 lbs or 454g = 3 carbs & 350 calories
- Crab – can also be found in the frozen section (Crayfish can be substituted)
- 3 litres water
- 3 tablespoons 12 Mix One Spice®
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar (optional)
- 2 tablespoons Greek One Spice®
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper.
- Optional: wedge of lemon, onion, chopped celery
Thaw crab in fridge. Fill a large pot with 3 litres water, spice and vinegar, bring boil. Add crab. Return to a boil, cover 12-15 minutes or until crabs turn red. Remove and drain. Serve with melted butter with fresh lemon squeezed in. (Crayfish can be substituted)
Alternative method:
STEAMED CRAB
- 3 litres water
- 2 1/2 tablespoons 12 Mix One Spice®
- 3 tablespoons Greek One Spice®
- Cider vinegar
Use rack, in stock pot. Add equal quantities water and vinegar to just below level of rack. Layer crabs; sprinkle each layer with mixture of Greek & 12 Mix One Spice®. Cover and steam until crabs are red. (Crayfish can be substituted)
